The existing Alternative Sentencing Department (ASD) building was constructed in 2011/12 and provides alternative sentencing options for lower-level crimes. Alternative sentencing options allow the offender to continue working while serving their sentence. The offender also pays for a portion of the cost of the program. This allows Larimer County to carry out offender sentences at a much lower rate than in the Jail. The expansion at the Alternative Sentencing building will include approximately 170 new beds along with the staff space to support the expanded programs.
